Playing on the Cincinnati Reds in 1961, he helped them win a pennant as he hit .323 with 32 doubles, 37 homers, scored 117 runs and batted in 124 runs, and he stole 22 bases. His speed in the outfield saved many games with his fine running catches.
Frank Robinson was rated as one of the best all-around players; and with his booming, powerful, clutch hitting he seemed to win game after game in this era.
Playing for the Baltimore Orioles in 1966, his power hitting, 49 homers, 122 Runs and 122 RBI's, .637 slugging pct, .316 batting ave. (he led the league in all of these categories) helped the Orioles win the pennant and world championship.
