Willie McCovey Willie McCovey

Left Field & First Baseman, San Francisco Giants, 1959-73, Padres, 1974-76, Oakland A's, 1976, SF Giants, 1977-80.

Willie's home run hitting in the 1960's and 1970', made him a Hall of Famer. McCovey hit 521 career home runs. National League Most Valuable Player in 1969. Hit 18 career grand slams, a NL record, including three (3) pitch hitting. Twice McCovey hit three (3) consecutive home runs in one game. Willie Mac played in 6 All-star games. He established leadership abilities and was a well like ballplayer. Career totals include 1345 walks, 1229 runs scored and 1555 R.B.I's. McCovey had a .270 life time batting average.
