2007 Colorado Rockies

Colorado fans are looking for a big improvement from the 76-86 last place record in the NL West in 2006.

Playing in his third full major league season All-Star left fielder Matt Holliday reached career-high in all batting categories, .326 BA, 196 hits, 45 doubles, 34 homers, 1919 Runs, 114 RBIs and an .387 on-base-pct. As did third baseman Garrett Atkins, .321 BA, 198 hits, 31 Ds, 13 Hr, 117 Runs, 120 RBI, with a .409 on-base-pct. Garrett Atkins debuted with the Rockies in 2003.

Nitty Gritty Talk:

Second baseman Jamey Carroll is a slick fielder and can turn over the double play with the best of big leaguers. Relief pitcher Brian Fuentes is generally the first Colorado player to arrive and start his daily routine of workouts.

One of the best line drive hitters in the game, Todd Helton extended his streak of .300 plus seasons to nine straight 1998-2006. Although his .303 last season was his lowest since he hit .280 in 35 games in his first year with Colorado, 1997.
