Mitchell, Leftfielder, Cleveland Indians 1950's. One of
the top hitters in this era; Mitchell had a lifetime batting
of over .300. In 1952, Dale batted .323 and the following
year he hit .300. Dale was a speedy base runner and he flew
around the bases. His fielding and hitting efforts helped
the Indians win the pennant in 1954, when they set the AL record,
winning 111 games in a 154 game season. Dale Mitchell's
mistake-free ball playing made him an All-Star throughout his
long career. His steady hitting made the Cleveland Indians
a pennant contender throughout the 1950's. |
