Question 1 - Who Was I?

Batting leadoff, I often sparked my team, hence my nickname of "The Ignitor."

I played my whole career in the American League, with fifteen years spent with just one team.  But, if I were playing for that team now, I would be playing in the National League.

Some highlights of my Hall of Fame career were:

  • a 39 game hitting streak in 1987
  • Two world series appearances, and one World Series ring
  • a .500 avg, 2 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 8 RBI, and 10 runs scored in the 1993 World Series

In the early part of my career, I played 2B and 3B, but as time went on, I also played the outfield, and ended up mainly as a DH.  I had a lifetime batting average of .307, stole 504 bases, knocked in 1,307 runs, crossed the plate 1,782 times, and also had 3,319 hits.
