Barry Foote 1975 TOPPS BASEBALL CARD A noted defensive catcher with some long ball power in his bat, Barry Foote started in the minors in the Montreal farm system with the Bradenton Expos back in 1970, and moved up the ladder playing at West Palm Beach in 1971, then hit 16 homers for Quebec City in ’72 and 19 homers in Peninsula in 1973. As a rookie Barry Foote was chosen NL Player of the Week in September 9-15 1974 when he lined 9 hits in 27 at bats, with 2 Ds, 2 Ts and drove in 10 runs. He also was chosen to the TOPPS All-Star Rookie team. His most productive seasons were with the Expos and the Cubs. |
