James Goodson debuted in the majors with the San Franscico Giants in 1970 and took over the starting third baseman role in 1973. He responded with a career year. A left-handed batter, Ed Goodson powered a pinch hit grand slam home run on August 1 1973 against San Diego and in that season had a 16 straight game hitting streak.
