1975 TOPPS CARD Ed Kirkpatrick broke into pro ball in 1962 as an 18-year old with San Jose of the Cal St League and was brought up to the majors that same year with the California Angels in October and played 3 games. A 16-year major league career. After splitting time with the Angels and in the minors the next couple of years he played 117 games in 1966, lined 7 doubles, 9 homers, 44 RBIs but batted only .192. After spending most of '67 in the minors he returned to the Angels in '68. In 1969 he was traded to the Cardinals and hit a nice .257 with 11 Ds and lined a career best 14 home runs. Kirkpatrick best batting years were 1972 and 1973. He hit .275 in 113 games in '72, including 15 doubles and 9 homers and scored 43 runs and also had 43 RBIs.
