The switch-hitting outfielder is best known for his defensive play and his speed on the base paths. He was the #25 draft pick in the 1992 draft by the Colorado Rockies. Spent time in the minors, 1992-95, and after hitting a combined robust .360 with New Haven nd Colorado Springs in 1995 was brought up to the Rockies in late Sept for 3 games. A success right-off-the-bat, Quinton McCracken batted .290 with 17 stolen bases in his rookie season in 1996 and followed with a .292 mark with 28 stolen bases in 1997.
