Baseball Historian Biography

A well-regarded team player, Charlie Silvera spent most of his whole nine year career as a backup catcher to Yogi Berra and Elston Howard. Although Charlie Silvera played only 227 games spanning 1948-1957, he was an excellent bullpen catcher, noted for his handling of the Yankees' pitching staffs.
