Phil Bradley was one of the top all-around players for the Seattle Mariners from 1984-1987. He was a fine ball-hawk, fast base-runner and a .300 hitter. In 1984, his first full year in Seattle, Bradley hit .301 and stole 21 bases. In 1985, he was named to the 'Sporting News All-Star Team' by hitting .301, 33 doubles, smashed 26 homers, scored 100 runs and had 88 RBIs. His 1987 season included highs in doubles 38 and in stolen bases with 40. Unhappy with playing in a small TV market, Phil Bradley asked to be traded and was to the Phillies. He batted only .264 in his only season in Philadelphia. He then played 2 years with the Orioles and then left for Japan, there he hit 21 HRs in 1991. Phil Bradley's career numbers: .286 BA, 1058 hits, 179 Ds, 78 HRs, 155 stolen bases - caught stealing 62 times. |
