Reliever Jonathan Broxton caputured the attention of baseball fans with one of the fastest fastballs in the modern era. In 2006, the Dodgers set-up man notched a resounding 97 stikeouts (Ks) in just 76.1 innings. On August 24, 2007 Jon Broxton had a Dodgers team record of not allowing a home run in 96.2 innings broken by ex-White Sox second baseman, Tadahito Iguchi of Japan, in a LA 5-2 victory over the Phillies. The 6-ft 4-inch 240 flame throwing Broxton came on in relief in the 8th inning and yielded the homer in one-inning of work. His ERA is a very solid 2.34 so far for 2007. |
