Right-hander reliever Kiko Calero had two solid seasons with the St Louis Cardinals in 2003-2004. What catches your eye is his second year with the Cardinals. The Puerto Rico native blistered big league batters with his fastball, striking out 47 in 45 1/3 innings and he surrendered only 27 hits, while posting a 3-1 record with 2 saves. Kiko Calero was traded to the Oakland A’s in December 2004, and worked as a relief set-up man, pitching in 58 games and then 70 in 2006. In his first four major league seasons he had a real fine 3.13 ERA. |
