A fleet-footed outfielder, Jack Calvo was one of the first Cuban players in baseball history. Born in Havana, Cuba he made two attempts in the major leagues during baseball’s Dead Ball Era. In 1913 he batted .242 with one homer in 33 at bats, spanning 16 games. After spending six years in the minors Jack Calvo return to the Washington Nationals in 1920 and hit just .043 in 17 games. |
