Baseball Historian Biography

Andy Carey batted .302 during his first full season with the New York Yankees in 1954. Manager Casey Stengel platooned Andy Carey at 2B & 3B and Carey responded by becoming a fine fielder and hitter for the Yankees from 1954-59.

Andy Carey played in 16 World Series games and although he batted only .175 he saved numerous runs with his fielding.
