Reggie Jefferson First Baseman and DH In 1986 at age 18 Reggie Jefferson was the #3 drafted pick of the Cincinnati Reds. While driving his car in Florida in 1989 he fell asleep at the wheel, went off the road and flipped over, but thanks to seat belts escaped with only a severe sprained ankle. In his rookie season, 1991, Reggie Jefferson played just 5 games with the Reds before being traded to the Indians and played 26 games there. Played with Mariners in 1994, then signed with Red Sox via the free agency. Playing regularly as DH in Boston he hit a career-best .347 with 19 homers in 1996 and .317 the next season.
