A solid contact hitter in the second half of his career – he hit .295, .329, .318, .284 from 1974-79 while wearing a Phillies’ uniform. Johnstone collected four World Series rings and played on Eight divisional winning teams during his 20-year tenure with seven different major league squads – 1966-88. Born in Manchester Connecticut, he had 39 offers to play quarterback after excelling in football at Englewood High School.
