Kirby Puckett's .318 lifetime batting average was the second highest mark for American League players in the past 20 years (1980-2000) trailing only Wade Boggs. A native of Chicago, Puckett was an excellent center-fielder and helped the Minnesota Twins win World Series Titles in 1987 and 1991. He had 5 homers and 16 RBI's in 24 post-season games. He won six Gold Gloves in a 12 year career. Puckett's career ended at age 34 by partial blindness caused by glaucoma.
