1909-1911 White Borders Baseball Card T206 Ed Abbaticchio, Pittsburgh Shortstop The 5 ft 11 inch, 170 pound infielder was well-regarded during the dead ball era when the infield was mostly laden with stones, pebbles and bits of broken glass. A fast base runner, Ed Abbaticchio stole 142 career bases. A dilligent worker, he led the National League with 602 at bats in 1905 while a member of the old Boston Braves. Playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1909, Ed Abbaticchio enjoyed winning success as the Pirates won the World Series, defeating Detroit in 7 games.
