Spider Jorgensen was the starting third baseman on two Brooklyn pennant winners, 1947 and 1949. Although the Dodgers lost both World Series to the Yankees, Jorgensen had two fine Series. In the 1947 Series he had four hits, including two doubles, scored a run and had 3 RBIs. In 1949 he made a couple of very fine defensive plays and had two doubles in 11 at bats., with a run scored.
