Although the 22-year old, hard-throwing left-hander Boone Logan had limited success last season, 2006, as a rookie with the Chicago White Sox, he has impressed management in spring training games in 2007. Used as a reliever Boone Logan has a put together a string of 10 scoreless innings this spring, including perfect inning yesterday, March 22 2007. Slated to be one of the White Sox’s long reliever he’s showing he can do the job. He pitched 2 1/3 innings against Colorado and 1 1/3 innings against Oakland this spring.
Sox general manager Kenny Williams ‘Left-handed pitching is left-handed pitching and everyone wants it, which makes it hard to come by. We wanted big power arms and feel confident with the ones we got. Note: at the end of 2007 spring training Boone Logan was sent to the minors for more seasoning.
