Baseball Historian Biography

The 6 ft 5 inch 195 pound Pete Schourek had a solid rookie season with the New York Mets in 1991. He started 8 games, tossed a complete game shutout, worked 27 other games in relief, earned 2 saves and finished with a 5-4 record, 86.2 innings.

 

Pete Schourek signed as a free agent with the Cincinnati Reds in 1994 and in 1995 had his best major league season. The tall Texan stacked up numbers of 18-7 record, 3.22 ERA in 29 starts. He later pitched with 3 other teams.

Pete Schourek helped several boys at his old high school and one thankful youth earned a scholarship to a college.
