Bill Serena -3rd Baseman, Right-handed - Chicago Cubs

Bill Serena was a very popular player with the fans in Wrigley Field. In his first full season with the Chicago Cubs in 1950, Bill Serena hit 20 doubles, 17 home runs, batted .239, with 61 RBI's. He looked good at fielding the 3rd base hot corner, but fractured his wrist in 1951 and saw limited playing time. Serena came back in 1952 to bat .274, 21 doubles, 5 triples, 15 homers, 61 RBI's and a .469 slugging average. Bill Serena showed great hitting promise but was nagged by injuries and was forced to quit baseball at the end of 1954.
