A control pitcher, Jerome Williams of the San Francisco Giants has excellent control of four pitches, and he’s not afraid to use any of them in any situation. In 2002 pitching for Fresno Triple-A of the Pacific Coast League Jerome Williams, just 21-years-old, went 6-11 with a solid 3.59 earned run average in 28 starts. He struck out 130 batters, walked just 50 for a very-nice 2.6 K/W ratio. Last year with the Giants, 2004, Jerome Williams posted a fine 10-7 record, 4.24 ERA, fanned 80, walked 44 and allowed less than a hit per/inning – 123-129.1. The 6 ft 3-inch, 190-pound right-hander started 22 games and surrendered 14 homers. On April 29 2005, spring training, exhibition game, Jerome Williams struck out six in five innings of work, and lined a two-run triple to pace the Giants to a 9-5 win over Arizona.
