He allowed only 363 hits in 453 innings, with a .211 opponents batting average and a low .266 on-base-pct. The Cleveland Spiders (now called the Indians) led by Cy Young's strong pitching advanced to the World Series in 1892. Young started the 1st game and pitched a scoreless 11-inning tie against the Boston Beaneaters (Braves), but Boston won the next five games in a best of nine Series to win the 1892 Championship. Cy Young ended his long career with a 511-316 win-loss record And won 30 or more games in 5 different years.
