Cleveland Indians Baseball History One of the most dependable hitters with the Cleveland Indians is Dick Porter, who is playing his 6th season with the club. Porter was bought from the Baltimore Club of the International League after the close of the 1928 season. That year he led the International League in batting with the mark of .376, and drove out 25 home runs. He is a right-hander, both in batting and throwing, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighs 175 pounds.
