Photo courtesy of Gage County Nebraska Historical Society A solid hitter Everett Purdy broke into the major leagues with the Chicago White Sox in 1926 and played just 11 games before being sent to the minors. He signed with the Cincinnati Reds the next season and batted a robust .355 in 18 games. In 1928 Pid Purdy batted .309 with a career-high 11 doubles in 233 at bats spanning 70 games. He played one more season with the Reds, batting .271 in 181 at bats in 82 games. Baseball History |
