Michael Young

One of the best all-around shortstops of the new century, Michael Young of the Texas Rangers rates among the best defensively and is an outstanding batsman. For four straight years, 2003-2006, he has batted over .300 and has lined over 200 hits, including leading the American League in batting with .331 and in hits with 221 in 2005.

A pure line drive hitter and a team player, Michael Young plays an aggressive, hustling style of defense, base running and hitting. He can power fast balls and curve balls to all fields.
